Last Gasp title is no contest for Mirkin in Bmore
November 22, 2011 - 5:35amNovember 19th 2011 ( not a typo) Jon Mirkin easily picks up his second title of the year (90...gross 94) by 10 strokes over second place finisher " Mow Money Mike" ( closest to the pin) 104 (below). Next was most mediocre and most likely to puke down the side of Greg Coutants car after the round...Jordan Beck 107. Then rounding out the shit was Shaun O'Connor 114, Garland Griswold 117 ( long drive somehow), and repeat melt down recipient Greg" the iron man" Coutant 127. Newcomber Matthew Scott made his debut with a stellar 135! see you next year! GG
Executive Course for the BMORE Douchebag? Sure why not!
October 3, 2011 - 3:00amWhen I booked the Bmore Douchebag Invitational at a so-called executive course with 9 par 3's and 9 par 4's, I was wondering why the fuck did I do that...then again it was the Douchebag Invitational. On a rainy, chilly October morning 10 medios took on HopeValley Golf Course in beautiful Mount ( where the hell are we) Airy Md. Not knowing what to expect as none of us had ever played it..we soon found out that this was one strange and challenging short course.... first hole....all business! Cade(left) and Garland before the round The Best dressed Douchebag ...Cade (110) Enjoying their first MGA event would be left to right Mike Mow $( bailed after 9 holes to go to a wedding), Shaun O'connor 88 (long drive winner) and Mike Clare 99ster. Shaun O'connor had a lovely drive on this par 3, except...well.... FIREBALL! The Group....Greg Ironman Coutant (95) holding his closest to pin sticker which is now on his bumper..The rest of the Field...Jon Mirkin ( 93) and a few guests..Joel (99) and Brad (90). Ooohh yea almost forgot...Patrick Kaack with his second Douchebag title and who knows how many of our tournaments he has won...(most)...Great Job Kaack! (82) See you at the Last Gasp...many thanks! GG
Kaack on a roll in Baltimore
September 15, 2011 - 12:27pmKaack adds more hardware to his collection as his 90 edges out Bratish open winner Jon Mirkin (91). Kaack also got closest to the pin as seen below: Mirkin (left) contemplates the next hole, while Cade washes his balls. Joe Carlineo had the long drive award and a stellar 99. other non notables: Greg ( ironman) Coutant 105 Brandon Hayes (meltdown) 114 Garland Griswold horrid 122 Cade 131 ster. Thanks for playing and See you at the Douchebag. GG
Mirkin grabs the rack in B More
August 2, 2011 - 2:44amFueled by cinnamon flavored bourbon Jon Mirkin wins his first MGA event in the Charm City by dominating the rest of the medios and taking the prize by 6 strokes over FU champ Kevin Leahy (99) closest to pin and long drive. Doesn't take long to hit the triple digit scores: Joe Carlineo with a somewhat respectable round of 105, and then newcomber Brandon Mead kept it fairly straight with his 108 and most mediocre round...( my bad, I owe you a gold " M"). Next we will take it up a notch or 14..Griswold and Coutant horid 122's...but Coutant gets another meltdown. Cade..What can I say, must be the Keystone lights....127. See you next month!
BMOREMGA - Leahy takes care of bidness in Baltimore
July 11, 2011 - 10:47pmBALTIMORE, MD - It was the 19th hole and the only thing interesting to discuss was albino deer and the fact they are rare or something. Sitting over at the end of the table was Kevin Leahy with a grin ear to ear having one his second major of the year ( as well as, closest to pin, longest drive and any other meaningful award).
Carlineo takes the "Fore" by 8 strokes in B MORE!
June 5, 2011 - 11:06amJoseph Carlineo's first MGA title was a dominant mediocre performance (101)as the southpaw also stuck it closest to the pin but never actually landed on the green .... we had to give the award to somebody.
