Fantasy Favorites Interviewed. A Must Read Before Picking Your Team.
THE INTERNET, CA - We are now halfway through the Fantasy League preview month and beginning to get a better picture of what the standings might look like this season. The Who's Kinda Hot list displays fantasy points scored in the last 60 days and clearly demonstrates that the bonus points available for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place (50, 30, 10 points respectively) finish in a tournament will carry much weight in the battle for Fantasy team supremecy.
A few weeks ago we sent out a questionnaire to the top 10 players from last years Global Money List. Most of them got back to us, but some were presumably too busy with sponsor obligations to reply. These seven men who replied are the odds-on favorites for fantasy picks, so here is some valuable information on each one to help you make educated decisions when locking in your team (starting April 4th).

1. Randy Peach
How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: 9...perfect attendance.
Please predict how many wins you will have this year: 1
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?: food, beer, sleep, repeat
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: i'm rich, bitch
How much can you bench press?: 10 pounds...no problem.
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: matthew smyth...this guy joined the boston mga chapter before the 2011 season and nobody knows who he is. never seen him...never heard from him...wildcard.

2. Todd Benoit
How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: I've blown off girlfriend's birthdays and family member's weddings for MGA tournaments in past years. I don't plan on putting anyone in my life above a $1.25 check this year either.
Please predict how many wins you will have this year: I'm thinking I'll maintain my average of 3 a year. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometime and that will continue in the SFMGA again this year with the likes of Lanier Plemmons, and Brohm winning a tournament every once in a while.
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?: I don't practice during the season....why the fuck would I practice in the off-season?
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: G.O.A.T. Do I need to say more?
How much can you bench press?: 2 petite 20 year old girls.
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: I don't pay attention to people who are outside of the top 10 so I can't answer that one.

How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: Probably the usual 6-7. It depends on if I have nothing else going on that weekend. I'm spread pretty thin, have a lot of engagements all over the place. You have not idea what it's like to be a huge celebrity like me. It's hard work, but I somehow make it all happen and still manage to show up to the little events like the MGA. Show all my minuns that I care about the little people too.
Please predict how many wins you will have this year: If I try I will win all of the events. Just depends on if I feel like it. If I want to win I will. If I have time during the tournament to try, I'll win. It's pretty simple.
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?: Drinking too much, not working out. Thought about golf a lot though. I'm pretty sure that's going to help.
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: You want to win don't you. If there was some way to pick myself for all 6 spots I would. I like winning that's why I'd do it. To win.
How much can you bench press?: I usually lift cars and busses. You'll have to weigh one of those to find out. Maybe start by weighing a Volkswagon then double that.
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: The 'Big Easy' Seattle Chapter. Real name is Kellen Bary. If it weren't for the 8s on his cards he'd probably scratch a lot of tourneys. The dude's got skills. He's probably as good as one of my pinkies, if that tells you anything.

How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: Most Likely all of them...I live for the MGA
Please predict how many wins you will have this year: 4 - because that's how many tournaments I predict Ryan Murrietta will miss
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?: 3 times a month...sometimes more
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: Because I want that belt...I want to be on top of that money list...and I was born to win
How much can you bench press?: about 55lbs...with my dick ( no but seriously, probably only 50lbs with my dick)
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: Ryan Murrietta (oc chapter) The dude is really, really good at being kinda alright.

5. Ryan Harper - Seattle
How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: most to be exact
Please predict how many wins you will have this year.. just one
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?: dart league, campfires and tiger woods '11
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: tough choice, you decide: Jessica Biel, Natalie Gulbis (in body paint), or Ryan Harper ( I'll make your MGA dreams come true)
How much can you bench press?: I prefer french press
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: Jack (got da shanks) Hatten

6. Terry Boland - Boston
Has been unreachable at a Sandals resort ever since finishing at 6th in the world.

7. Robert Hall - Conejo Valley
Bought a Chinese professional basketball team and is too busy looking for the next Jeremy Lin to reply.

8. Vin Ferraro - Boston
How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: Booked my flight to Vegas last week. Tell Armstrong to take good care of my belt.
Please predict how many wins you will have this year: Since Morley cheaped out on the Jugs, there’s only one that really matters. A lesser man concerns himself with lesser things.
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?: If I had one criticism of my game last year it was that I faltered early in the season. Honestly, I just wasn’t in the necessary mental shape required to compete at the highest levels of our game. I’ve spent a lot of time the last few months inside a dark, dank, scary place dealing with all manner of terrible sights and sounds, just to toughen myself up. In fact, I’ve spent so much time in there that the Fuzz has started calling me “Dad.”
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: Placed 13th in Vegas. Placed Top 10 in every event I’ve played in Chapter history. The one chapter event I didn’t was the only event I’ve missed in two years—the 2011 MGA. If not for a scoring error, I would have won the DB in my first round back…with a broken arm. In short: consistent excellence, durability, and an inhuman threshold for pain.
How much can you bench press?: Just enough to get out from under that hooker in Vegas.
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: From the recon I gathered in Vegas, I think there’s a couple of dark horses out there primed for a good year. I’m not giving away my top three—man’s gotta eat, right?—but let’s just say, hypothetically, if a couple of those guys in Salt Lake ever figured out that drug problem, we’re all gonna be in for a world of pain.

9. Mike Berk - Boston
How many tournaments will you make it to in 2012?: I haven’t decided yet, just like Luke Donald is skipping the early tournaments this year, my life coach/golf coach/personal food chewer says that I should focus all my energies ONLY on the Majors. I can’t expend all my get-up-and-go on meaningless “warm-up events” even if we do use golf carts.
Please predict how many wins you will have this year: All of them. A complete sweep of the season.
What has your off-season practice routine consisted of?:
5am wake up (Hit snooze button – wonder how to cope with no golf during off season, fall back to sleep)
9am crawl out of bed (realize I missed my 8am meetings and fall back to sleep)
11am huge bowl of Special K, Eat a dozen hard boiled eggs
3pm – Golden Bear’s Private Time
5pm – Read MGA website, be reminded that Randy the Fuzz Peach is the World #1, smash things in anger
6pm Shower – Get ready for the day
7pm – 1000 Putts in my living
9pm – Weep openly.
I also joined a women’s boxing class so I can finally nail a chick
Why should people pick you for their fantasy team?: 2 words- Rocket Ballz (and I’m not talking about Taylor Made's new golf clubs)
How much can you bench press?: bend over and ill show ya
If you had to pick one person for your own fantasy team, who finished outside of the Global Money top 10 last year, who would that be?: Tiger Woods – that guy really sucked on the MGA tour last year.
