North West Bay GC, where 10 medios battled damp conditions (Although thankfully not as damp as last year) for The MGA.

When one thinks of the tournament your think of class and grace, these two things do not describe winner Stewart “Coombe-Dog” Coombes. A gritty player, Coombe-Dog shot an 89 to win by 8 stokes from the 1st Loser James “Grab my balls” Teirney. Teirney contriburting his last minute coaching “ you’re standing to close to the ball”, most medios already knew this information, it’s the normal case after we hit the ball! Runner up loser Ben “Slow Play” Hardaker was a further 2 strokes back.

Another tournament, another debutant, Tommy “Gun“ Austen looked calm and easy as he lined up for his first tee shot, the tee shot sounded lovely of the club face, but sounded even better to the rest of the playing group, as it landed in some ones back yard. A good start, but fought back well to clam 4th place.

I’m kinda long went to Matthew “Gun Show” Hansson, with a real long effort from the left hander, who also took out most Mediocre. Kinda close once again went to the only medio to make the green, with Chris “Couldn’t hit a 1 foot putt to save my life” White’s 5m effort.

Bradley Canning with his highest finish of 6th, (Ed: he actually came in 5th at the Bratish) was left thinking what could’ve been, to take the meltdown award. While Justin “Officer” Mahoney was still suffering the effects of his holiday and couldn’t find the right groove.

The happiest David “New” Burdon seemed to be the happiest man to take home his six pack for a win on handicap. An emotional New Dave thanking everyone who had believed in him over the years.

It wouldn’t be an MGA event without it’s controversaries, with many Medios showing their displeasure at the slow play of Chapter leaders Coombes and Hardaker, with many abusive texts being sent their way. Was it a deliberate ploy to unsettle the rest of the playing group?

The first questionings of “tanking” arose after the round, with JJ after his 3rd placing at The Bratish, coming last. With the introduction of six pick in the NBA draft style for ballot chances based on your finishing place. Could it be said he was “Tanking” for more chance at beer? But even with all the extra chances, Coombe-Dog with a 1% chance of winning.......... won.
