Kurt wins first German F.U. Open in Düsseldorf
On a cosy saturday morning right in the heart of Europe - at the Rhine river in Düsseldorf, the Duisburg MGA hosted the very first European MGA tournament at the end of June.
3,5 participants joined to get the ball rolling that day -- Kurt, Sumeet and Nejc plus Jan who could not finish the full round. As all participants and would be aspirants not present outperformed each other with regards to their lack of practice, Kurt drove home the victory with ease - taking a slip here and there in the slim but shady roughs of the course.
Sumeet headed south in the back nine, which shows his lack of stamina, especially given that the front and back nine where the same 9 as is fairly usual in the German city golfing experience. No wonder, he was more than happily surprised with the Meltdown Award and the Most Mediocre Award, which he well deserved. The picture shows Sumeet getting ready for hole 17 with the ambition to stay committed to the out of bounds Rhine shores.
With the remaining tournaments for the year, the main challenge will be to keep Kurt in check -- which a growing crowd of Duisburg MGA members will seek.. we expect a growing level of excitement and suspense at the coming tournaments!
