It's tough to find trouble at the Legacy, but Mike Berk of the BostonMGA shows that if anyone can do it, an MGAer can.

The Legacy is a wide-open course with limited trouble, ensuring everyone has a kinda alright time at the tournament. The great course conditions and easy rough means players will need to go low if they hope to lift the belt and become the 2011 MGA World Champion©™®. The past two winning scores have been four and five munder respectively.

The signature hole at The Legacy is number 10, a 153 yard par 3 with the tee boxes shaped like the suits of a deck of cards. To truly enjoy this hole, we recommend renting a helicopter and flying over the course, otherwise you’ll never even know you’re playing it. This is traditionally the "closest in the world to the pin" hole.

Personally, my favorite hole is number five, a 477 yard par 5. It’s reachable in two for many players, even on the MGA tour and it has kinda alright views of the strip in the distance.

Once again, the course is extremely accommodating of us. They even let us play inspirational music during our awards presentations over the PA. We encourage any of you who may be passing through Vegas to make the trip out to Henderson and check out the course for a practice round. Tell Kevin Swain we sent you and he might hook you up with a free scorecard for your round! We hope you all can come join us November 11th&12th and take part in what is quickly becoming a marquee event in the world of golf (we think).

Kevin Swain making sure everything in the clubhouse is bolted to the floor before a bunch of drunk medios come storming in from the course.

Registration for the MGAWC will open August 1st. But if you know you’re going to go, book your flights ASAP because they’re not getting any cheaper.

MGAWC SCHEDULE:

Friday, November 11th - Practice rounds for pre-qualified players (Look in the rules section under the "about" tab to see who qualifies) and the L.O.I.Q. Tournament. The Last Opportunity In Qualification tournament is open to any MGA player who has played in three regular season events but still failed to qualify for the MGAWC. The top ten finishers in the L.O.I.Q. earn a spot in the MGAWC's the next day.

Saturday, November 12th - Mediocre Golf World Championships. Defending champion John James of the SFMGA will likely be relying on his "Past Champion" exemption status to make his way into the field this year. But that doesn't mean he's going to let go of that belt without a fight. Will you be the one to take it from him?!

How to qualify for the World Championship in November

5.1       Finish top 10 on your chapters money list

5.2       Win a regular season event

5.3       Past World Champions and Global Money Champions get five year exempt status

5.4       Finish in the top 10 in the LO-IQ (Last Opportunity In Qualification) (11/11/11) tournament in Vegas the day before the actual MGAWC’s (11/12/11).
