Tampa Bratish Open 2017

Legacy G.C. Lakewood Ranch Florida, July 15, 2017,  99*F 127% Humidity
The challenge of the Arnold Palmer signature course brought 30 medios and guests out to the 2nd annual Tampa Bratish Open.  Our sister chapter to the South, the Fort Myers crew and our Daughter chapter to the North, the Spring Hill gang converged on this "bougie" course to battle it out for the covetted Claret Juggs.
ABC 7 Sarasota was brave enough to send a reporter out to cover our outing and give us a generous 45 seconds of prime airtime! As always balls were flying everywhere except the fairways. The numerous water features consumed more than their fair share of shots.  Check it out here:
Andrew Leatherman took home a delicous prize for the most likes on his Instagram post for this event, a fine bottle of Digital Dissolution from Cigar City Brewing.  Don't forget, follow us on Instagram to see event pics, gratuitous beer pictures and whatever else strikes me as interesting.
Kilts & Knickers were the attire of the day and the braver of the bunch realized that Women are definitely the smarter of the species as there's quite a bit more breeze in a kilt than there is in shorts.  The extra cooling power of the Kilt & Skirt didn't help Jeff Gee or Amy Fields who both took home squishy balls for their meltdown mode on the back 9.   I blame that on the course having a beer cart Boy instead of a beer cart Girl.  He camped between 8 & 9 and was never seen again leading to sober and dehydrated medios on the back 9.
Amy Fields dominated the long drive trouncing the rest of the krewe by 75 yards (give or take).
Lord of the North, John Montagnino stole the closest to the pin by sticking it super close.  Someone verify his mediocrity please...
Not to be completely undone by his meltdown, Jeff Gee also took home the Golden "M" for his extreme mediocrity.  Turn that "M" upside down for your glorious Kilt though Jeff, that was a definite "W"in!
Rookie Kal Kalamas has been on the cusp of victory all season and clenched it at just the right moment.  He pinched out a one stroke victory over rival Ariel Rodriguez to grasp the Juggs and the gross award!  Congratulations on your first win Kal!
