Hello Friends,
Tournament time is here! We will play this Sunday! First group tees off at 10AM sharp! I’ll gather our entire group at 9:45 near the first hole to go over introductions and a few things to remember for the day. Again, I implore you all to check out the rules of play for the MGA located here.
Crappy Weather Forecast- The National Weather Service is predicting a dry and sunny day with mild temperatures reaching 75 degrees! It’ll be like a day at Pebble Beach!
Let’s talk about the prizes…
The winner of the Rebel Am Am gets a trophy…since this is a partner event, both of you get your own trophy! But only one of you gets the BIG CHECK. That’s right, there is a BIG CHECK to be handed out to the winner. Everyone else gets a little check…However, the winner of this tournament does have to play from one set of tees further back than everyone else (so be careful what you wish for!).
Longest Drive will be hole 18. Closest to the Pin will be hole 14. If you take the Longest Drive and/or Closest to the Pin, you win a really cool sticker. Seriously, it’s pretty rad.
The Gross Award is given to the player with the lowest gross score on the day after factoring in penalty strokes (looking at you Nick Hinton).
But what about everyone else? We have some items for the rest of you who can’t play well.
The person who finishes in the middle of the pack wins the coveted Golden “M” for being the Most Mediocre. For the person who has the worst score differential from the front nine to the back nine, we have the Meltdown Award. Finally, the person who finishes last gets the humiliating Red Key Award. The Red Key allows you to play from the tees up one from everyone else in the next tournament.
