Jesse Marty Wins Back To Back Tourneys To Dominate The SFMGA Summer Swing

JESSE MARTY VAULTS FROM NOWHERE TO SOMEWHERE DURING AMAZING RUN OF FORM. IT'S NOW HIM AND BOBBY G FIGHTING FOR THE MONEY TITLE, WITH EVERYONE ELSE JUST TRYING TO MAKE THE MEDIO CUP TEAM.

THE INTERNET, CA - It started at the FU Open at Las Positas on June 22nd. Marty had a career best and MGA-bullseye of a round, shooting an 80 on the nose to defeat Bobby G by a shockin 8 full strokes! The killer round dealt Jesse two shiny new penalty strokes and added a solid $1.35 to the paltry $1.06 he had amassed over his first 3 events of 2019.

Marty took his two penalty strokes in stride and swung into the Bratish Open the following month full of confidence. Luck was on his side too, as the main field was already playing the blue tees at Lake Chabot and being the top notch facility that it is, there were no black tees. So Marty was instructed to walk 10 yards back from the blue tees whenever possible and tee off from there. The maximum possible penalty of 180 yards clearly wasn't enough, as Marty again blitzed the field, shooting an 84 and beating El Presidente by one measly stroke.

His second consecutive screamer of a round jumped Marty to an unprecedented 5 penalty strokes! If anyone needs a reminder of how much this guy sucked when he first joined the MGA, here's an entire article I wrote about it four years ago. https://www.mgatour.com/news/chapter-news/sfmga-jesse-marty-wins-bratish-open-novak-makes-sad-desperate-plea-attention

The 5 penalty strokes would prove to be a formidible challenge to Marty at the FORE! Championship. Not only was he dealing with that new reality, but he also had to play from the Black tees at Metro, a full 900 yards longer than the white tees that the main field was playing!

If you consider those obstacles, his 104 on a 6,900 yard course in high winds wasn't half bad. Unfortunately, with the competitive nature of the SFMGA Chapter, it only earned him 14th place and a pathetic $0.07 at the richest tournament of the year. Fortunately for him, Bobby G totally wasted a golden opportunity by shooting a 100 from the whites and taking home a sad $0.10 in 12th place.

And thus, the 2019 SFMGA Money List battle rages on with Marty trailing G by a scant $0.10 after 6 events. May the "best" medio win!
