A tradition kinda like another...

Hello, friends.

It's that time of year again here in the South. Azaleas, pimento cheese, severe thunderstorm watches...and lots of pollen.

It's time...for The Bastards.

Steeped in tradition, The Bastards is the most important tournament in the history of the MGA. The MGA was launched in 2006 with the first edition of this tournament and it has remained the most significant tournament ever since. As the first major of the year, pressure is high for those players hoping to complete the Mrand Slam by winning all four majors. The winner of The Bastards receives the coveted blue trucker cap and a spot in the history and lore of the MGA.

This year, the Charlotte MGA will have a very special Cinco de Mayo edition of "Los Bastardos" on Sunday, May 5 at Emerald Lake Golf Club in Matthews. Defending champion Eric Waddell will be going for an unprecedented Bastards three-peat, and looking to follow up on his Rebel Beach Am-Am victory in March.

Who can possibly stop this runaway train? Maybe an aging, semi-legendary figure in a red shirt on a quest for redemption?

Not unless I putt better than I did last time.
